Poglejmo to širitev skozi čas in številke.
In še 100 let pozneje že 20.

The five Starešinič brothers in Pittsburgh in 1917
A Californian descendant of the Preloka’s Starešinič family planning to visit his ancestors birthplace would like to know who are the handsome men at https://www.preloka.si/rojaki-po-svetu.html. Since this is not the first such question, here is the answer.
These are the five sons of Ivan and Magdalena Starešinič from Preloka no. 52 (today no. 10). The first from the left is the oldest – my great-grandfather Matija (born 1878). Following him from left to right are ordered from the oldest to the youngest: Ivan (1882), Nikolaj (1890), Jure (1892), and Janko (1894
The photo was taken on July 12, 1917, in Pittsburgh, where all five brothers went, as we say, "with their bellies for bread." Four of them then stayed in America and started families there, only the eldest, Matija, returned home to Preloka in 1922, where the farm, his wife and two sons awaited him (the elder – Franc – is my grandfather). With his earnings from America, Matija started building a new house immediately after returning home which is still standing today.
The lineage of my great-grandfather Matija originates from Preloka no. 18 (now 29), known locally as »Pri rihtarju«. His grandfather Matija (after whom my great-grandfather was named) was »rihtar« – a municipal judge acting as a village mayor.
It can also be concluded from archive documents that house no. 18 was the location or the "trunk" from which numerous "branches" of the Starešinič spread throughout Preloka. Let's look at this expansion through time and numbers.
A little five centuries history of surname Starešinič in Preloka
In the »urbar« (land register) of the Metlika lordship from the year 1593, 47 subjects/serfs with the corresponding taxes from the estate are listed in the Preloka parish. Among them there is only one with the surname Starešinič: Lenak Ztarasÿnÿch, with the note <supan frey>, meaning he was exempt from all serf duties as the mayor of the Preloka parish.
17 years later, in the 1610 register of the Metlika lordship (written in German), there are already three surnames Starešinič among the 43 listed serfs: besides the already mentioned Lenackh Staraschinitsch), there are also Michel Staraschinitsch and Michail Staraschinitsch.
2 centuries later, there are already 16 houses with the surname Starešinič in Preloka. And yet another 100 years later there are already 20.
One of my distant ancestors from Preloka no. 18 (the father of these five brothers in the photo, Ivan) also established my birth house and branch – Preloka no. 52, today's no. 10.
And now, there are much more Starešinič descendants all around the globe than in Preloka, but Preloka awaits them all – both brick&mortar as well as online one!
